James Darley

Teach First is an education charity that believes in the power of education as an agent of social mobility. They work with like-minded partners to give every child the right to an excellent education. The Leadership Development programme is central to their work; they recruit high-calibre graduates and experienced professionals with leadership potential to make an impact in classrooms, schools as across society. 

James has been working in Graduate Recruitment for over 15 years.

He is responsible for the attraction and selection of around 1,300 top graduates who want to join the Teach First Leadership Development Programme.

He joined Teach First 9 years ago from Credit Suisse where he was the European Head of Graduate Recruitment. 

Before this he took a year off to travel around the world and fulfilled life-long ambitions including swimming with wild dolphins, hiking along the Great Wall of China and sailing up the Amazon!

Prior to travelling, James also spent 2 years at Deutsche Bank as Global Head of Fixed Income Graduate Recruitment and at the same time served as a Director of the AGR. 

James is an Advisory Board member of The Springboard Bursary Foundation, on the Development board of Frontline (a new social enterprise dedicated to transforming the life chances of vulnerable children) and also sits on a number of university employer/career services boards including Cambridge, Edinburgh, London, Leeds and Leicester.
